Hon. Charles Samson, Roxbury Vermont Hon. Charles Samson came here in 1810. Z. S. Stanton, in his Historical Centennial Address, thus speaks of him: He accompanied his father, Benjamin Franklin, who was veteran of the Revolution, and participated in the battle of Lexington and Bunker Hill. Mr. Samson bought the place where L. A. Rood now lives. The previous occupant was Dr. Stafford, who kept a tavern, and the first in town. Charles Samson settled where Mr. Wetmore lives. He has been closely identified with the affairs of this town ever since, and is still permitted to be with us.
