Methodist of Waitsfield, Vermont

The first Methodist preaching in the town was probably about 1804, and doubtless a class was formed soon after. The town was first embraced in the Montpelier circuit, as were also the towns of Middlesex, Moretown, Warren and Fayston.

Their first church edifice was erected in the mill village in 1833, was remodeled, a spire added, and painted in 1852. In 1845, the circuit was abolished, and Waitsfield and Warren became a station. In 1868, Waitsfield became a separate charge. The names of those who have been preachers, with the dates of their pastorate, as far as they can be ascertained, are as follows:
