Episcopal Church of Waitsfield, Vermont

In 1853, while the Universalists were not occupying their house of worship, an effort was made by Hon. R. Richardson, Jr., and others, to establish Episcopal worship, which resulted in the repair of the house, the formation of a church of 52 members, and the installation of Rev. John E. Johnston as pastor. These services were continued until 1855, when Mr. Johnston removed, and Mr. Richardson took up his residence in Montpelier.

Rev. J. H. Hopkins, Jr., afterwards endeavored to look up the lost sheep, and Rev. Mr. Hazzard labored earnestly with them for a time; but the society has now very few members remaining, and no stated services. It depends upon the Northfield rector for occasional ministrations.
